MEAT AND VEGETABLES
All our meat and vegetables are sourced from local suppliers, which we have supported for several years. This always ensures freshness and high quality.

There is a large range of vibrant, rich, Indian vegetables available in numerous tastes and textures. There are some which you will recognize and others that look less familiar. To help you in making your selection we have listed some of the variety that is available.

SPICES
All the spices are hand selected and ground freshly to complement our menus. Listed below are some of the spices we use at Poppys Indian Kitchen

DAALS (lentils)
There are many types of daal and they come in different colours ranging from browns to bright orange. Although they are similar to look at their individual taste is unique. The basic ways in which daal is cooked:

Cooked simply as a daal dish which is very much like a rich soup full of roasted, rich spices like cumin, cardamons and bay leaves
Made as a dry daal curry which has very little liquid but is very moist almost like mashed potatoes.
